Dos and don’ts in LASIK surgery
LASIK surgery can be very tricky if you don’t do your homework of proper research before going in for an initial consultation. While the doctor will provide you with information about LASIK and the guidelines to remember before, during, and after the surgery, this is a general list of some dos and don’ts that you have to really keep in mind, and it doesn’t get said enough.
Don’ts
1. Do not rub your eye immediately after the surgery, no matter how itchy it gets
2. Do not expose yourself to direct sunlight during the recovery period
3. Do not wash your eyes immediately after the surgery
Dos
1. Do apply solution for your eyes that is prescribed by your surgeon to keep your eyes moist
2. Do rest and have a long sleep immediately after the surgery
3. Do your usual activities but be sure to forget about the three don’ts because they are the most important.
